In Memory of LeRoy Hayden

Chugiak resident, Jesse LeRoy Hayden Jr., 53, passed away
Nov. 9, 2011 at St. Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage. Born July 15, 1958 in
Anchorage, he was a lifelong Alaskan. He was a student of Chugiak H.S. Class of
1976. He was employed in the family owned business of The Metropolitan Show Club
and followed as it changed to the Crazy Horse Saloon. His love of music and
outgoing personality were a perfect mix for the business.
Jesse LeRoy died from complications of an anoxic brain injury suffered
during a cardiac arrest on Oct. 6, 2011, which left him in a coma. He was a
candidate for heart transplant after a 25+ year battle with Congestive Heart
Failure/Cardiomyopathy. He fought a good fight.
He was an active member of Community Covenant Church. He was on the
Board of Directors for Love INC., former Board Member of CHARR and Fight Night
Boxing Judge. He loved fishing, skiing, golfing, poker, computer games, music
and being adventurous. He loved Alaska and participated in everything it had to
offer. He had a curiosity for life and a fear of nothing. He never met a
stranger or least not for long. He was most proud to be a loving father to his
son "Trey". His family and friends will miss his beautiful smile, bear hugs and
his good-natured personality.
He is survived by his Son "Trey" Hayden III, mother Jeanette Johnson,
sisters Jenada Johnson and Fabrette Campbell, stepfather Frederick Johnson,
niece Mariah Campbell, nephews Jaden Johnson and Malachi Casey, aunt Barbara
Taylor, close cousins Defford Taylor and Dwane Taylor all of Anchorage; half
sister Thelma Hayden-Turner of Baltimore, MD., godsister Angela Fuller of
Alexandria, VA., and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will have a private visitation Friday Nov 25th. The Memorial
Service will be Tuesday Nov. 29th, 7 p.m. at Community Covenant Church in Eagle
River. His ashes will be scattered next summer.
He is preceded in death by his father Jesse LeRoy Hayden Sr.,
half-sister Carolyn Hayden-Copeland, grandparents Ada Anderson and A.C. Collier,
Pearl and Fred Johnson.
